Kyoto, Japan
Shrines. Kimonos. Traditions.
Began the first leg of the trip in Kyoto, Japan. The preservation of the shrines & temples was amazing to see in person. I've always seen photos of them, but the bright orange paint along with the shape of the temple was very pleasing to the eye.
Outside the shrines were stalls of street food vendors. So. Good. From salt & pepper wagyu to steaming takoyaki, the quality of food was amazing. Did I mention how nice Japanese people are?
Nishiki market is a gigantic hub filled with vendors ranging from street wear to cafes. It can be overwhelming with all the other tourist around, but you start to find certain shops you like and distance yourself from the madness. I loved the snoopy themed cafe, definitely coming back.
Kyoto was amazing in every sense and was a great start to the Japan trip.
